The verify tool on the Transactions page allows you to separate your transactions between two statuses: verified, and unverified.
Think of verified transactions as complete transactions and unverified as transactions that still need your attention.
When a transaction is imported or entered, it is good practice to ensure that there is a category selected, a sales tax set, any customer/vendor information is added, and the description is correct. However, having all of these fields set is not necessary in order to verify.
Once you know you have checked over a transaction and it's correct, that is when you verify it.
To verify a single transaction, you can select the check-mark to the right of the transaction:
Select the left check-box then Verify.
Note: No data is modified when a transaction status has been changed.
You can also bulk verify your transactions! Select multiple check-marks down the left hand side then Verify.
If you want to bulk verify ALL of your transactions, start by selecting the check-box at the top left. This will select all of the transactions on the page. Then, beside the amount selected, you will see the option to select all of your transactions. On the example below, notice the 'Select all 28' in the prompt above? I have 28 total transactions and if I select this, it will select ALL of the transactions.
If you have selected all, you can then click on Verify to verify every transaction.
Filtering by verified or unverified
The transactions tab can be filtered by verified or unverified which will help minimize clutter. Turn on the filter to only see unverified transactions so you know which ones you have to make sure are correct. This is like giving yourself a 'to do' list for every time you log in.
If you have filtered by Unverified, only transactions that need your attention will be displayed. To view verified transactions, all you need to do is change the filter setting.
Undo a verified transaction
If you are viewing a Verified filter, it will display all of your verified transactions. If you want to un-verify a transaction, simply select the green check-mark on the right of the transaction:
