Canadian employers - What is a TD1 form?

This article is for Wave Payroll in Canada.

TD1 forms, also known as Personal Tax Credits Return Forms, are used to determine the amount of federal and provincial/territorial tax to be deducted from an employee's paycheque.

You can download both federal and provincial TD1 forms here. Your employee will need to fill out both federal and provincial/territorial forms and submit them to you so that appropriate deductions can be taken from their paycheques. The deducted taxes are then remitted to the government on the employee's behalf by you, or you can authorize Wave to remit your payroll taxes for you.

When you add an employee to Wave, we will fill in the default deductions or you can make changes to the tax deducted from your employee's paycheque.
