This FAQ for Payroll by Wave is applicable to both Canada and the U.S.
You can activate your Wave Payroll account at any time. Here's how:
- Click on Settings in the left menu then select Billing under Payroll.
- Select Activate my payroll account.
That's it! You will be able to approve Payroll Runs and generate T4's.
But, what if you run your payroll in July but not again until October? No problem! You can put your account on hold in your Wave Payroll profile before July 31. Go back to the Billing page and select Deactivate Account. When this is all done your account will be marked as inactive and you will not be able to run payrolls or access your tax reports. Also, you will not be charged for your Payroll account.
Note: Approved payrolls will still process accordingly.
Now, your account will be inactive for the months of August and September. On October 1st you can click billing and reactivate your account.
