What is Form 1099-K?

Form 1099-K is an IRS tax form that reports payment card and third-party network transactions. You’ll use it when filing your taxes.

What information is included in the 1099-K I got from Wave?

The Form 1099-K you receive from Wave reports the gross processing volume of card payments in your Wave Payments account. The gross processing volume represents the total amount of money you've processed through Wave in a calendar year before fees, refunds, or adjustments.

Will I receive a Form 1099-K?

You will receive a 1099-K form sent from Wave in January 2023 if you process payments with Wave Payments and meet the minimum reporting requirement set by the IRS or your state.

Where can I access my 1099-K?

If you use a pop-up blocker, add waveapps.com to the list of allowed sites in order to download your 1099-K.

To download your 2022 Form 1099-K:

  1. Log in to your account through waveapps.com.

    Only the Wave account owner can access the 1099-K. Users collaborating on the account will not see the form.
    Learn more about user roles and permission levels for collaborators.

  2. On the left navigation menu, click Reports.
  3. Under the Taxes section, click Form 1099-K.

Your 2022 Form 1099-K is available in the reports section of waveapps.com. It is not available through the Wave mobile app.

How can I get a copy of my 1099-K from a previous tax year?

If you require a copy of Form 1099-K from 2021 or earlier, ask our support chatbot Mave about 1099-K. From the options presented, select request digital copy of Form 1099-K.

To open Mave from a web browser, click on the help icon at the bottom right of the screen after logging in to your Wave account.

To open Mave from the Wave mobile app, tap More on the bottom menu, then tap the ? button in the top right corner.

Why does my form say Worldpay?

Your Form 1099-K from Wave will be issued by Worldpay, our payment processing partner.

The information on my form is incorrect. What should I do?

If any information on your 1099-K form is incorrect and needs to be updated, click on the help button in the bottom right corner of your Wave account. This opens a chat with Mave, our support chatbot. Type 1099-K, then, from the options presented, select My form 1099-K is wrong to submit your amendment request.
