Turn credit card and/or bank payments on and off

Wave lets you choose which methods of payment you accept. You can turn off a specific method of payment, or all online payments, for a single invoice or for all invoices, at any time.

  1. On the left navigation menu, click Sales & Payments > Invoices and click on the invoice you want to edit the payment settings of.

  2. On the next page, there is a box at the top of the page that says Online Payments ON. Click on this box to bring up your payment options.
  3. Use the ON/OFF toggles to select which online payment types will be available to your customer on this invoice.

Using this method, payments are turned on or off for a single invoice only. Future invoices generated for this or other customers will follow your default payment settings.

Turn payment types on or off for all invoices in your web browser

Follow these steps to change your default payment settings. You can turn all payment options on or off this way, or choose to turn a specific method of payment on or off.

  1. In the left navigation menu, select Settings.
  2. Scroll down to Sales & Payments and choose Payments.
  3. Click the on/off sliders in the Turn Payments ON/OFF box to change the default payment methods available on your invoices.
  4. When a payment method is turned on or off, a prompt will appear below the payment type asking if it should be turned on or off for existing invoices. If you want this click Yes. If not, click Not right now.

The credit card slider must be set to ON to be able to accept American Express payments.

  1. Select Invoices from the bottom menu, then tap on the invoice you want to edit the payment settings of.

  2. Scroll down the page and tap the box that says Invoice online payments.
  3. Toggle your preferred payment method on or off, or tap Reset to your default settings.

Using this method, payments are turned off for a single invoice only. Future invoices generated for this or other customers will have payments enabled if they are turned on.

Follow these steps to change your default payment settings. You can turn all payment options on or off this way, or choose to turn a specific method of payment on or off.

  1. Open the More page from the bottom menu.
  2. Tap Online payment options.
  3. Tap the checkbox next to a payment type to turn it on or off.
  4. Tap Save.

Tapping Save only applies the payment settings to invoices created after saving. To change the payment settings on existing invoices, follow the steps below turn payment types on or off for a single invoice in the Wave mobile app.
