How to send an invoice

There are two ways to send an invoice in Wave. You can also send Wave invoices directly from your email account. 

Send from the invoice list

  1. When you are logged in to your Wave account, click Sales > Invoices on the left side menu and then the drop-down to the right of the invoice you want to send.
  2. Click Send to send the invoice through Wave. Click Show Additional Options to send a copy to yourself or attach the invoice as a PDF. 

Send from the invoice view page

Use this method when you want more control over your sending options.

  1. From the Invoices page in your Wave account, click on the invoice from the list view to open it.
  2. Now click Send Invoice. A new window will appear which will allow you to customize the email you're about to send to your customer.

When you send an invoice as a link through Wave or through your email, you'll be able to see when your customer has viewed the invoice. This insight can be useful when you're deciding when to follow up with your customer.

Feel free to create a test invoice to send to yourself to make sure the option is what you want. The Preview button will allow you to see the email you're sending your customer before you hit Send

The other tab will open a new window to allow you to send the invoice directly from your Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo! account.

Want to send other attachments along with your invoice, like payment terms, contracts, or records of expenses? Send the invoice as a link directly from your email client and include the other documents as attachments.
