How to view, edit, duplicate or delete an estimate

Sometimes you’ll need to make changes to an estimate you’ve created, make a copy of it, delete it altogether, or view an estimate to confirm the details. Read on to learn how you can take these actions with estimates created in Wave.

How to view an estimate

  1. Select Sales & Payments > Estimates from the menu on the left.
  2. Find the estimate you want to view, and click the arrow button to the right of that estimate.
  3. Select View from the dropdown menu to view the estimate.

Once on this page, you'll see your estimate, and the various actions that you can take.

How to edit an estimate

  1. Head to the Sales & Payments > Estimates page.

    If you’re already viewing the estimate, you can click the Edit button, and jump to step 4 below.

  2. Find the estimate you want to edit, and click the arrow button to the right of that estimate.
  3. Select Edit from the dropdown menu.
  4. From this page, you can edit or delete information from any section of the estimate. For example:
    1. The memo
    2. The footer
    3. The subheading
    4. The currency. To change this, click the Currency field, then select a new currency from the dropdown menu.
  5. Once you have made your changes, allow the tax and total amounts to recalculate (if you have edited any of the items).
  6. Click Save.

If you’re looking to change your address, which is displayed on the estimate, you won’t be able to do so directly from the estimate. This is because the address on the estimate is filled in using the address on file for your business in the Manage your profile section. To change this, follow these steps:

  1. Head to Manage your profile > Businesses.
  2. Click on the name of the business you want to edit the address of.
  3. Fill in the details of your updated address.
  4. Click Save.

    This change will be reflected on all of your estimates and invoices.

How to duplicate an estimate

  1. Select Sales & Payments > Estimates from the menu on the left.
  2. Click the dropdown arrow the the right of the estimate you want to duplicate.
  3. Select Duplicate.
  4. You’ll be taken to the Edit an estimate page, where you can make any necessary edits, such as change the Date, Customer or Currency.
  5. Click Save.

Your new, duplicate estimate has been created, and is now displayed on the Estimates page.

How to delete an estimate

If you’re already viewing the estimate, click the More button, then select Delete from the dropdown menu.

  1. Head to the Sales & Payments > Estimates page.
  2. Find the estimate you want to delete, and click the arrow button to the right of that estimate.
  3. Select Delete from the dropdown menu.
  4. You will be asked to confirm the deletion of this estimate. Click OK to confirm.
