The information you enter in your tax profile allows Wave to calculate your portion of payroll tax liabilities and remind you when tax payments are coming due. You can view this information on the Taxes page.
United States
- On the left-side menu, click Payroll > Run payroll then click the Payroll Setup button.
- In the Business section, to the right of Tax profile, click Add details.
- Enter your Federal Employer ID Number; your (F)EIN. This number is required if you have employees in the US. Learn how to apply for an EIN.
- Click Enter your frequency beside each federal tax. Select a frequency and effective date from the drop-down menus.
- If applicable, next to Federal Unemployment Tax, click Enter your settings, select if you are exempt and an effective date.
- Next to your state tax account numbers, click Enter your identifier, then enter your State Employer Numbers.
- Next to your state taxes, click Enter your rate to fill in your tax rates, select the effective date and, if applicable, select if you are exempt.
- Click Save and continue.
Canada
- On the left-side menu, Payroll > Run payroll then click the Payroll Setup button.
- In the Business section, to the right of Tax profile, click Add details.
- Enter your CRA Payroll Account Number. Click Save. This number is required if you have employees in Canada. Learn about applying for a Payroll Account Number.
- Enter your payroll remittance frequency for the CRA.
- Click Save and continue.
