How to update an employee's salary

Follow these instructions to edit an employee's salary. You can schedule this change to take effect immediately, or at a later date.

  1. Click Payroll, then Employees in the menu on the left side of your screen.
  2. Find the employee you want to update and click on Edit.
  3. Click Compensation, then click Change Salary.
  4. Enter the new salary in the Salary amount field.
  5. In the Effective as of field, enter the date the new salary takes effect. (Please note that the earliest effective date will have to be after your last approved pay period.)
  6. Click Save to complete. You're done! The new wage will begin to be reflected on the payroll that covers the selected date.
  7. The employee's salary history is listed under History on the Salary page.
