Holiday bank closures impact timelines for receiving payments from Wave. Below you’ll find the holidays that affect payout timelines in Canada and the United States so you can plan ahead.
You can always refer to Banking > Payouts in your Wave account to see the estimated timeline for when your funds will be deposited.
Why won't I get paid on holidays?
Wave can only deposit funds into your bank account on business days. While the number of business days it takes to deposit your funds doesn’t change, it’s important to remember the bank holidays below are not considered business days. This is because deposit instructions Wave sends to your bank will not be processed or posted until the banks have re-opened.
The timeline for payments to be deposited varies from 1 to 7 business days depending on where your business is located, and whether your customer pays by credit card or bank payment. You can find the timeline for each payment method in Getting started with Wave Payments.
As an example of how deposits are affected by bank holidays, let's say you are expecting a credit card payment to be deposited on a Monday, but Monday is Labor Day. Your payout will be deposited the next business day, the Tuesday after Labour Day.
