Enrolling in the IRS' Electronic Federal Tax Payment System (EFTPS) allows you to review and pay federal taxes online or by phone.
If you are a new business that indicated a likely federal tax deposit liability when applying for your EIN, you were automatically pre-enrolled in the Electronic Federal Tax Payment System. You should have received a letter with your four-digit EFTPS PIN after applying for your EIN. If you did not receive this PIN letter, call EFTPS directly at 1.800.555.4477.
If your business was not pre-enrolled, enroll on the EFTPS website. Before you enroll, have the following business information ready:
- Employer Identification Number
- Banking account number and routing number
- Address and name as they appear on your IRS tax documents
To enroll in the Electronic Federal Tax Payment System (EFTPS):
- Open the EFTPS website at https://www.eftps.gov/eftps/.
- Select Enroll.
- Review the information, then click the checkbox to accept the Privacy Act and Paperwork Reduction Act.
- Select Enroll me as a Business.
- Enter the requested information, then click Review.
You'll receive your PIN and enrollment number in the mail within 5 to 7 days after submitting your enrollment. When you receive your PIN, call EFTPS at 1.800.982.3526 to get a temporary Internet password. When you first log in to your EFTPS account, you are prompted to update the temporary password.
Wave will never request your EFTPS PIN or password.
