Your payroll taxes and due dates are calculated based on the information you enter in your tax profile in Wave. If you need to make any changes to your tax profile later, you can edit it under Settings. Learn how in Update your tax profile.
View tax amounts
- On the left-side menu, click Payroll > Taxes.
- To view the payroll taxes you owe, click on the Accumulating Taxes tab.
- To view your taxes coming due, click on the Due Taxes tab.
- To view all your tax payments, click the Taxes Marked as Paid tab.
After you have run a payroll in Wave, you can view the payroll taxes that you owe under the Accumulating Taxes tab. Wave also shows you payroll taxes that are coming due and taxes that have been paid. The deposit frequency of your tax payments determines when the taxes become due. For example, if your deposit frequency is monthly, the amounts will not move to the Due Taxes tab until the month ends.
Mark a tax manually paid
If Wave makes your tax remittances in Canada or your tax payments in a supported state in the US, Wave will move your liabilities from the Due Taxes tab to the Taxes Marked as Paid tab when your payment is scheduled. You don’t need to manually mark taxes as paid when Wave submits your payment.
If you handle your own payroll remittances in Canada or your own tax payments in the US, you can mark them as paid in Wave when you make the payment. To mark a tax as manually paid:
- On the left-side menu, click Payroll > Taxes.
- Click on the Due Taxes tab.
- Click the dropdown arrow to the right of the tax to view a detailed breakdown, then click the Mark Paid button at the top left.
