FAQs

What are the fees?

Your Wave Money account and Wave Visa Business Debit Card are 100% free. There is no fee to open your account, no monthly fees, no transaction fees, and no fees for cash withdrawal on our surcharge-free ATM network. Wave won’t charge you a fee unless we incur one, and if we do, we’ll never mark it up.

With that said, there are two instances where you will be charged fees.

If you use an out-of-network ATM for any transaction, including checking your account balance, that ATM provider may charge you a fee. This ATM fee is a third party amount assessed by the individual ATM operator only and is not assessed by Wave. This ATM fee will be charged to your Wave Money account.

Wave’s standard processing fees apply to all payments received using Payments by Wave to your Wave Money account: 2.9% + $0.30 per credit card transaction and 1% (minimum $1) per bank payment.

Are all ATMs free?

The Wave Visa Business Debit Card connects with a network of thousands of ATMs across the country to offer you surcharge-free cash withdrawals.

To find a free ATM, tap Find an ATM near you at the bottom of the Wave Money dashboard.

If you use an ATM that’s outside our network for any transaction, including checking your account balance, that ATM provider may charge you a fee. This ATM fee is a third party amount determined by the individual ATM operator only, and is not determined by Wave. This ATM fee will be charged to your Wave Money account.

When withdrawing funds from an ATM, you will need to select the Checking Account or Business Checking Account option for a successful withdrawal.

My ATM withdrawal failed. How do I resolve this?

You may have exceeded your ATM withdrawal limits, which would prevent the transaction from processing. You can check the account limits for ATM withdrawals in-app by navigating to Settings > Account Limits .
