Wave Money is in limited release. It is currently available to invited single-owner businesses in the United States.
Add funds to your Wave money account using any of the following options:
Transfer money from another bank account
Set Wave Money as your default payout account with Wave Payments
Set Wave Money as your payout account with other payment processors
Funds cannot be sent via wire transfer to your Wave Money account.
Deposit a check
- In the Wave mobile app, tap Banking on the bottom menu.
- Select Deposit check.
- Take a photo of the front of the check you are depositing, then take a photo of the back.
- Enter the amount of the check.
- Enter the relevant details in the From and Memo fields.
- If the check is a payment for an existing invoice in Wave, match it to the deposit. If you don’t see the invoice in the suggested list, tap Search for an Invoice, and search by customer name, invoice number, or amount.
If the check is not a payment for an invoice, select Deposit check with no invoice and select the category it should be bookkept under. To complete the bookkeeping later, select Uncategorized Income from the list. - Click Confirm check deposit.
That’s it! You’ve successfully deposited your check.
You can keep track of the deposit on the Banking page of the Wave mobile app. The check deposit transaction will appear in your list of transactions with a pending tag until the check clears. If the check deposit fails, you will receive an email with more information.
To see your check deposit daily and monthly limits, tap Banking on the bottom menu of the Wave mobile app, then tap Account limits under the Bank section. Account limits cannot be changed. More information about account limits is available in Wave Money terms of service.

Transfer money from another bank account
Use your routing and account numbers to transfer money from another bank account.
To find your account and routing numbers, tap Banking on the bottom menu of the Wave mobile app, then tap Routing and account numbers under the Bank section.
Set Wave Money as your default payout account with Wave Payments
If you haven’t set up Wave Payments to accept payments on your invoices, follow the instructions here.
If you use Wave Payments, set your Wave Money account as the default payout account to receive payouts. This also gives you access to free Instant Payouts if you are eligible, but Wave’s standard payment processing fees will still apply.
Set Wave Money as your payout account with other payment processors
If you use a third-party payment processor, or any application where you need to provide your bank account details to have funds deposited, you can set your Wave Money account as the payout account using your account and routing numbers.
To find your account and routing numbers, select Banking on the bottom menu of the Wave mobile app, then tap Routing and account numbers under the Bank section.
