FAQ: Your Account Update to the New Version of Wave Accounting

How long does the update take?

The update usually takes about 10-15 minutes, but can take up to 8 hours for very large accounts. If you've been a Wave customer for a long time, or if you have a lot of data in your account, it takes a while for the system to run the upgrade.

Will my customers be able to pay invoices I've sent while the update is running?

Yes. Payments on invoices, including automatic payments, are not impacted by the upgrade process.

My account was updating, but I logged in and it still looks the same. Did the update go wrong?

Sometimes, the update process will encounter an issue. When this happens, we stop the process and the issue is automatically logged to the development team responsible for account upgrades. The issue will be investigated, fixed, and then your account will be rescheduled for an update at a later time. There is no action required on your part.
