Wave's Stripe connection will end on June 30, 2021 for businesses outside the US and Canada. As of March 31, 2021, sending Stripe payment-enabled invoices will no longer be supported.
Wave is recentering to focus on the US and Canada and making some changes for users in other countries. As part of those changes, Wave’s Stripe connection will end on June 30, 2021 for businesses outside the US and Canada, and as such the last day to send Stripe payment-enabled invoices is March 31, 2021.
Wave invoicing will still be accessible after March 31. You can send invoices normally and your customers will be able to view their invoices, but Wave invoices created after March 31 will no longer contain payment links for your customers to pay online.
How does this affect invoicing?
- Invoices and recurring invoices created/generated after March 31 will no longer contain payment links for your customers to pay online.
- If an invoice was created before March 31 but did not have Stripe Payments enabled, you can no longer enable it on the invoice.
- If you turn off Stripe Payments on an invoice which was created before March 31, you cannot re-enable it on the invoice.
You can still access Wave Invoicing after March 31. You can send invoices normally, your customers will be able to view their invoices, and your accounting and invoice records will not be affected or changed.
What happens to my Stripe account after Wave disconnects it on June 30?
Your Stripe account and your Wave account are separate accounts. Wave facilitated a connection between your Stripe account and your Wave account, which will end on June 30, 2021.
Your Stripe account remains active and can be connected to other third-party apps and services, like Zoho Books.
Can I use Wave with other payment processors?
Wave does not offer integrations with third-party payment processing tools. After Wave’s connection with Stripe ends, you can still send Wave invoices and collect payment outside of Wave through Stripe or other third-party payment processors, but Wave won’t facilitate payment processing directly on Wave invoices.
Will my Wave customer history be saved?
Your customer history will not be affected or changed, but you will no longer have access to saved customer payment information like credit cards.
Once the Stripe connection ends on June 30, you will no longer see the Credit Card Payments page in your Wave account, and Wave is obligated to remove any Stripe data saved to your Wave account, including saved customer credit cards. If you wish to use this information with Stripe in the future, you will need to re-collect payment information from your customers.
