When you log in to Wave, you’ll see a help icon in the bottom right corner of every page. Clicking this icon will connect you with Mave, our support chatbot. Read on to learn more about Mave and how to get help from within your Wave account.
Mave and the Help Center are available to all Wave customers. Together they ensure you have access to quick, accurate help when you’re using Wave.
If you’re not sure where to start when you have a question, click on the help button in the bottom right of any screen in Wave to get started. To access support through Mave, make sure you log in to your Wave account using a supported browser.
Both Mave and the Help Center have up-to-date content, so you can feel confident using whichever you find most convenient.
What is Mave?
Mave is an automated chatbot that’s available 24/7 to all Wave users. Mave uses machine learning to understand the questions you ask and match them to answers.
Mave is the best way to get answers about Wave and connect with available support resources. Answers are are written and updated by the Customer Experience team to ensure they are accurate.
Mave can give you quick and concise answers. If the answer to your question needs a more in-depth explanation, Mave will connect you to the right article or guide in the Help Center.
How to find your answer in Mave
Keep it short, but be specific
Try: "Categorize transactions"
Instead of: “My friend sent me $300, how do I categorize it as miscellaneous expense?”
Ask one question at a time
Try: "How do I delete an invoice?"
Instead of: "How do I delete an invoice and also run my payroll?"
Other helpful tips
When you type a question, you’ll see suggested answers that match your question. Click on a suggestion to see the answer.
Some answers have suggested next steps. These next steps were included by the Customer Experience team based on frequently asked follow-up questions. You can click the buttons with next steps to continue or you can type a new question.
What if Mave doesn’t have an answer to my question?
If Mave doesn’t understand your question, you’ll be asked to try asking again. Mave has over 700 answers about how to use Wave. Mave likely knows the answer to your question but might understand and respond to different words.
Asking your question again using different words can help Mave understand it better.
If you’ve tried multiple times and still can’t find your answer, Mave will offer to search the Help Center for you. You can also ask Mave to “search the Help Center.”
If you use Payments, Payroll, a Wave Money business bank account, or Advisors, Mave can help you connect with the Support team for more help.

How do I give feedback about Mave or suggest a missing answer?
The team working to bring Mave to life is constantly updating and creating answers to help you find what you need.
Ask Mave to “submit feedback” and Mave will collect any feedback you have about Mave, or any other part of Wave. Our team will review this when we’re making improvements.
You’ll also be asked to rate your conversation and submit feedback at the end of every conversation that you have with Mave. We use this feedback to make improvements and add new answers.
