Wave Money is in limited release. It is currently available to invited single-owner businesses in the United States.
As soon as you’re approved for Wave’s business checking account, the Wave Money Virtual Debit Card is available on your Wave mobile app. The Wave Money Virtual Debit Card lets you make purchases while you wait for your Wave Money Visa® Debit Card to arrive after you’ve signed up, or in case your physical Wave Money Debit Card gets lost or damaged. The Wave Money Virtual Debit Card is similar to your physical Wave Money Debit Card but has a different card number, expiration date, and CVV.
Add funds to your Wave Money account to start using the Wave Money Virtual Debit Card. There are a few ways to deposit money into your account. See the instructions in Add money to your Wave Money account.
View your Wave Money Virtual Debit Card details
- Tap Banking on the bottom menu of the Wave mobile app, then select Manage Cards.
- Tap on the Virtual card, then tap View card details to see the card number, expiration date, and CVV.
Freeze or unfreeze your Wave Money Virtual Debit Card
Freezing your virtual card disables it. This prevents the card from being used to make purchases online or in person.
To freeze or unfreeze your card:
- Tap Banking on the bottom menu of the Wave mobile app, then tap Manage Cards.
- Tap the virtual card, then toggle the button beside Freeze card to ON or OFF.
Report your Wave Money Virtual Debit Card as compromised
- Tap Banking on the bottom menu of the Wave mobile app, then tap Manage Cards.
- Tap on the Wave Money Virtual Debit Card, then tap Report compromised.
- After you acknowledge the terms of acceptance, tap Report and issue new card.
You will receive an email when your new Wave Money Virtual Debit Card is available to use.
Wave takes fraud prevention measures to detect and decline potentially fraudulent transactions. If unusual activity is detected on your account, Wave will send you an email and a notification to your phone with the next steps.
