If unmerging a transaction will affect a completed reconciliation period, a warning pop-up will appear. Learn how to fix an unreconciled period.

Unmerge transactions in your web browser

  1. On the left-side menu, click Accounting > Transactions.
  2. At the far right of the transaction, click the dropdown arrow, then Edit more details.
  3. Scroll down to the bottom of the pop-up and click Merged transactions or Automerge.
  4. In the next pop-up, click Unmerge.

This unmerges the transactions, and the original two transactions become visible on your Transactions page.

Unmerging a transaction may affect that account's reconciliation periods. Check the account’s reconciliation status to ensure everything is still accurate.

  1. In the bottom menu, tap Accounting > Transactions.
  2. Locate and tap on the merged transaction to open it.
  3. At the bottom of the transaction details, tap Merged transactions or Review merge.
  4. In the merged transactions' details screen, tap Unmerge.

This unmerges the transactions, and the original two transactions become visible on your Transactions page.
