You can grant trusted individuals, such as accountants, tax preparers, or business partners, access to your Wave account by inviting them as users. Learn about the different user types and permission levels.
When a trusted user collaborates on your Wave account, they can only see the business or personal profile they have been invited to. You must invite a user to each business individually for them to access additional business profiles.

Invited users will have access to sensitive information, including bank and credit card transaction histories. However, your online banking passwords are not accessible to users.
- Log in to your Wave account at waveapps.com.
- At the top right, click your Business name, then Business settings.
- On the Settings menu, under User management, click Users.
- Click on the role you want to assign to the collaborator, or if you already have users collaborating, click Invite user at the top right.
- Enter the user’s first and last name, email address, and position. If adding an Editor or Viewer, you can toggle ON additional access settings.
- Click Invite user.
On the Users page, you will now see the pending invitations. The user will receive an email, inviting them to join your business in Wave.
All Wave account owners can add Payroll Managers, and Block Advisor Tax Pros (if your business is based in the US). Only Pro Plan subscribers can invite Admins, Editors, and Viewers.
Resend an invitation
If a user doesn’t receive their invite, resend the invitation.
- Log in to your Wave account at waveapps.com.
- Click your business name at the top right corner, then Business settings.
- On the Settings menu, under User management, click Users.
- Next to the user’s name, click Edit, then Resend Invite.

When a user receives their email invite, if they do not have a Wave account, they need to click Join business name in the email to create one. If they already have a Wave account, they need to click Add business name in the email.
If a user creates a new Wave account, Wave automatically selects a business currency based on their location (CAD or USD). They can only change this during account creation.
Edit or delete a user
- Log in to your Wave account at waveapps.com.
- At the top right corner, click your business name, then Business settings.
- On the Settings menu, under User management, click Users.
- To edit user permissions, next to the user’s name, click Edit, then click a new user role. Click Update Info to save.
- To delete a user, next to the user’s name click Delete, then Remove user to confirm.
