Understanding user types and permission levels for collaborators

Wave account owners can invite trusted individuals to collaborate on their account as a Viewer, Editor, Payroll Manager, or Admin. Learn how to invite a user in How to invite or remove trusted individuals as Users on your account.

For the security and protection of business owners' sensitive data, there are a few pages in Wave that cannot be viewed by guest users.

To understand the level of access for each user type, and any exceptions that apply, see the table below.

It’s not possible to customize permissions for a user type.

  • Deleting the Wave account
  • Archiving businesses
  • Editing the business owner’s user profile

An additional user role, Block Advisors Tax Pro will be visible, only to US businesses, since the tax filing integration feature in Wave is currently only available for US businesses.
