Transfer a deposit or prepayment from a manually created customer credit account

Each customer you add to Wave will automatically have a Customer Credit account to use for invoice deposits or prepayments.

If you previously used a manually created customer credit account and there is a balance, move the balance to the new system-made account for your customer.

If you have a transaction where the Category is your manual customer credit account:

  1. Log in to your account at waveapps.com.
  2. On the left-side menu, click Accounting > Transactions.
  3. Locate the overpayment transaction.
  4. Click the current category. From the dropdown select Customer Prepayment, Deposit, or Payment on Account, then your customer's name.

If you have a transaction where the Account is your manual customer credit account, delete the transaction and bookkeep the invoice overpayment to their new customer credit account.
