Remove a tag from a transaction

For now, tags are available to businesses that were created before January 1, 2026, do not use Wave's invoice feature, and are subscribed to Wave's Pro Plan. To subscribe to Pro, see Activate a Pro Plan subscription.

If you need to remove a tag from a transaction or journal entry, you can remove it at any time.

To remove a tag from a transaction:

1. Open the Transactions page.
2. Open your transaction or journal entry.
3. Click the X icon beside the tag you want to remove.
4. Click Save.

Removing a tag will remove that transaction from that tag's reports.
