Add Terms of Service to your invoices in your web browser
This feature is available to Wave Payments users in the US and Canada.
- Copy the text from your Terms of Service document and paste it into the Notes / Terms section of an invoice.
You won’t be able to format text in this section, so keep the formatting simple.

Below the Notes / Terms section, toggle the button to ON beside Require customer to agree to terms of service before paying by credit card.
This requirement cannot be switched on for bank payments. If you have only bank payments enabled in your settings, you won’t see a button.
Your customer will be required to check a box that ensures they’ve read and agreed to the Terms of Service on the invoice before they can make a payment by credit card:

- In the left navigation menu, click Sales & Payments > Invoices.
- Click on the invoice to view it.
- Click the Edit button under Terms of Acceptance within the Send section of the invoice;
- To edit, scroll down to the bottom of the invoice, and edit the Terms of Service under Notes / Terms. Click Save and Continue.
- To delete, scroll down to the bottom of the invoice, delete the Terms of Service under Notes / Terms, and toggle the button to OFF.
Resend the updated invoice to your customer.
Add Terms of Service to your invoices in the Wave mobile app
This feature is available to Wave Payments users in the US and Canada.
- Open Invoices from the bottom menu.
- Tap on an invoice to open it, then tap the pencil icon to edit it, or tap the + button to create a new invoice.
- Scroll down, then tap the Notes and terms field.

Tap the checkbox next to Require Terms of Service to turn the requirement on.
This requirement cannot be switched on for bank payments. If you have only bank payments enabled in your settings, you won’t see a checkbox.

Type or paste your terms of service into the Terms of Service / Notes section.
Whilst Require Terms of Service is selected, the Terms of Service / Notes section must contain text.
- Once entered, tap the back arrow.
- Finish editing or creating your invoice, then tap Save.
Your customer will be required to check a box that ensures they’ve read and agreed to the Terms of Service on the invoice before they can make a payment by credit card:

- Open Invoices from the bottom menu.
- Tap on an invoice to open it, then scroll down and tap the Notes and terms field.
- To turn the terms of service requirement off, tap the checkbox next to Require Terms of Service again to remove the check.
- To edit or delete the terms of service text, tap the text in the Terms of Service / Notes section, and make your changes.
- Tap the back arrow, then tap Save.
