Your full-access payroll subscription is billed on the first day of each month. Your bill includes the current month's payroll subscription fee and the previous month's fees for active employees and independent contractors. An active employee is any employee currently working for your business and not on leave. They are considered active even if they are not included in a pay period.
Wave charges sales tax as required based on the work address under your Business Profile. Any tax charged will appear on your bill.

The monthly full-access payroll subscription fee for businesses in the United States is:
- $40 monthly base fee
- $6 per active employee per month
- $6 per independent contractor paid
Your first monthly bill will only include the monthly base fee, as the fees for active employees and independent contractors are retroactive.
If you activate your subscription within the last 10 days of the month, you are charged a pro-rated base fee for the first month.
