Review auto-updates to your transactions in your web browser

On your Transactions page, there is an auto-updates icon to the right of transactions that are automatically merged, categorized, or both, in place of the checkmark button that marks a transaction as reviewed.

To review the auto-updates, on the left-side menu, click Accounting > Transactions, then click on the auto-updates icon to the right of the transaction.

  • If the transaction was automatically categorized you can either confirm the category or change it. Learn how to recategorize transactions. Confirming or recategorizing removes the purple dot on the transaction. If other unreviewed transactions were categorized under the same category, you will also see a View other transactions button to review those transactions.
  • If the transaction was automatically merged, you can confirm or unmerge. Learn how to unmerge automatically merged transactions. Confirming a merge or unmerging removes the purple highlight on the transaction.

If a transaction has both been automatically categorized and merged, you can review the categorization and the merge separately.

Once you’ve verified the transaction is accurate, click the checkmark button to the right of the transaction to mark it as reviewed.

In the Wave mobile app, transactions that are automatically merged or categorized are indicated by a purple dot.

To review the auto-updates, tap Accounting on the bottom menu, tap Transactions in the submenu, then tap on the transaction to open it.

Confirming the merge or category, or recategorizing or unmerging, will remove the purple dot from the transaction.
