Wave works with Plaid to support banks and financial institutions in the US and Canada to automatically import transactions, fund payroll, and accept online payments from customers.
My bank is not listed to connect
Supported account types
To connect to Wave, your bank or financial account must be one of the following:
- Checking account
- Savings account
- Certificate of Deposit
- Prepaid debit card
- Money Market savings account
- Credit card
My bank is not listed to connect
While Plaid supports thousands of financial institutions, not all institutions and account types are supported, even if they meet the above criteria.
If your bank account or financial institution is not listed:
- For online payments or payroll funding, manually connect your bank account for payroll or online payments.
- For transaction imports, upload a bank or credit card statement, or use Wave Connect, our Google Sheets integration. Learn how to install and link Wave Connect.
It isn’t possible to manually add your bank account to import transactions.
To request Plaid to support your bank:
- On the left-side menu, click Banking > Connected Accounts.
- Search the financial institution’s name in the search bar.
- At the bottom of the dropdown list of bank names, click Let us know and upload a bank statement.
- In the pop-up window, type the institution’s name and enter their website URL, if applicable.
- Click Submit and upload a bank statement.
You will be prompted to upload a bank or credit card statement on your Transactions page. If you do not want to upload a statement, you do not need to continue with this step.
