Turn off two-factor authentication (2FA)

Wave requires payroll users to have 2FA turned on, and is currently rolling out 2FA requirements for online payments users. Once 2FA is required on your account, if you turn it off, you will be signed out of Wave and asked to set it up again.

If you aren’t using payroll, 2FA can be turned off at any time. To turn off 2FA:

  1. Click your business name in the top right corner, then click Profile Settings.
  2. In the Profile menu, click Password & Security.
  3. Next to your active method, click Turn off.
  4. In the pop-up, click Turn off… to confirm.

You will see an Inactive label under the 2FA sign-in method you chose. To reactivate 2FA, turn two-factor authentication on again.
