Send an invoice through Wave

  1. On the left-side menu, click Sales & Payments > Invoices.
  2. Click the Send button to the right of the invoice you want to send.
  3. In the pop-up that appears, you can do the following:
    • To send the invoice from a different verified email address, click on the From field and choose an email from the list.
    • To send the invoice to multiple contacts, click the plus icon next to the To field. Select an existing email or enter a new one.
    • Edit the subject line and message that will appear in your customer’s email.
    • Select the checkboxes at the bottom to send a copy of the invoice to yourself, or attach the invoice as a PDF.
    • If you have attachments on your invoice, you can select the checkbox to also attach them in your email. The files must be under 5MB. Learn more in Frequently asked questions about invoice and estimate attachments.
    • On the right side of the pop-up, preview how the email will appear to your customer.
    • To remove the Wave footer from the email, turn off this setting in your default invoices and estimates settings (available to Pro Plan customers).
    • To send the invoice, click Send.

After sending, you can track the view history of the invoice under the Activity tab in the customer profile or on the invoice itself. If the invoice is viewed multiple times, only the last viewed date is tracked. Check the Send section of your invoice for this information.

  1. On the bottom menu, tap Sales > Invoices.
  2. Select the invoice you want to send.
  3. Tap Send invoice.
  4. Select Send email via Wave. Here you can:

    • Add recipients: Select the To field and check the box next to the saved email address(es) of your contact(s). To add a new recipient, type the email into the New recipient email field and tap Add another recipient.
    • Edit the subject line and message.
    • Select the checkboxes at the bottom to send a copy of the invoice to yourself, or attach the invoice as a PDF.
    • If you have attachments on your invoice, you can select the checkbox to also attach them in your email. The files must be under 5MB. Learn more in Frequently asked questions about invoice and estimate attachments.
    • To remove the Wave footer from the email, turn off this setting in your default invoices and estimates settings (available to Pro Plan customers).
    • To send, tap Send.

After sending, you can see when your customer has viewed the invoice. Open the invoice and check the Latest section to find the last viewed date. If the same invoice is viewed multiple times, only the most recent view date is recorded.
