Send an estimate through Wave

Businesses that accept online payments or subscribe to Wave’s Pro Plan can send estimates directly through Wave. Learn about Wave’s plans and how to subscribe or how to set up online payments.

Send an estimate through Wave in your web browser

  1. Log in to your Wave account at waveapps.com.
  2. On the left-side menu, click Sales & Payments > Estimates.
  3. Click the Send button to the right of the estimate you want to send. Or, click on the estimate to open it, then click Send estimate.
  4. To send the estimate through Wave, fill in the required fields:
    1. To send the estimate from an alternate verified email address saved under your business profile, click on your email address in the From field and choose from the list. To add another email address to your business profile, follow these steps.
    2. You can edit the subject line, or the message that will appear on the body of the email your customer receives.

      With a Pro Plan subscription, you can customize the default message your customers see in their email when you send estimates through Wave. Learn how to customize your email message templates.

    3. Click Add recipient to send the estimate to multiple contacts. If you already have multiple emails associated with your customer’s profile, select one of the emails from the drop-down menu. If not, enter a new email address into the additional field.

    4. To hide the grand total in the customer email, uncheck the box next to Show grand total in the email.
    5. Select the checkboxes at the bottom to send a copy of the estimate to yourself, or attach the estimate as a PDF.
    6. Select the checkbox next to Show attachment files in the email to add attachments to the email. The files must be under 5MB. Learn more in Frequently asked questions about invoice and estimate attachments.
    7. To send the estimate, click Send.

This sends your estimate through Wave, but any replies to the email will be sent to the email address the estimate was sent from.

To remove the Wave footer, turn this setting off in your default invoices and estimates settings. This feature is only available to Pro Plan subscribers.

Send an estimate through Wave in the Wave mobile app

    1. Log in to your account on the Wave mobile app.
    2. Tap Sales on the bottom menu, then tap Estimates in the submenu.
    3. Select the estimate you want to send.
    4. Tap Send estimate.
    5. Select Send email via Wave. On this page you can:
      1. Add recipients. Select the To field, then select the checkbox next to the saved email address(es) of your contact(s). To add a new recipient email, type the email into the New recipient email field, and tap Add another recipient. This email won’t be saved to your contacts.
      2. Edit the Subject line and Message.

        With a Pro Plan subscription, you can customize the default message your customers see in their email when you send estimates through Wave. This feature is only available in the web browser version of Wave. Learn how to customize your email message templates.

      4. Select the checkboxes under Options to send a copy to yourself or attach the estimate to the email as a PDF.

    6. Tap Send.
